Welcome

The RJCC Bee:

The Rafer Johnson Children's Center (RJCC) is part of the Bakersfield City School District's Special Education Department.  The Department is directed by Dr. Julius Steele.  RJCC is located on the corner of Ninth and N streets with normal working hours of 7:30am until 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.  RJCC is a PreK site serving students with Special Education needs who either have an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) or an Individualized Education Program (IEP).

The Center houses the District's Early Start, STEPS, PreK SH, and Search & Serve programs.  Over 40 staff members (certificated and classified) call RJCC home and the Center works collaboratively with many outside agencies to aoppropriately serve this unique student population.  Johnetta Hampton (Adlministrative Secretary I) and Marcy Chacon (Clerk VI) can be contacted for more information at 661-631-5850.
